Miss America's Community Service Initiative (CSI) is an integral part of the interview phase of competition, supporting one of the branded elements of Miss America as outlined by the Five Points which are Style, Scholarship, Service, Success, and Sisterhood. CSI is specific to the Service point.

Delegates are encouraged to showcase their interests, passion, and creativity by outlining a plan or efforts to engage with their local community or state existing programs.  Or design their own program for their community or state.
